I have a full 48 hours off of work, and today I am going shopping! So in honour of this, today's post is about my little tips to make shopping a little easier. Enjoy!
1) Make A List
Making a list is the best tip I can give you. If you go in not having any idea what you need/want, you end up buying everything and spending too much money. Make a little note on your phone, and check each item off as you get it. In the long run, you do save a lot of money, and you also don't have to go back another day because you forgot something.
2) Use Cash
If you use cash when you go shopping, you have a cutoff. Using debit or, even worse, credit, means you don't have a clear idea of how much you have spent and you will most likely end up spending more money than you can afford. Once the cash is gone, you're done. Budget out however much you can afford, take it out of your bank account beforehand, and ONLY use that, rather than cards.
3) Wear Comfy Clothes/Shoes
Walking around a mall all day is murder on your feet. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes with arch support (flip-flops are a big no here). Also wear comfortable clothing that won't restrict you or be too hot/cold. If you are shopping for clothing, make sure it's something easy to take on and off as well. Jeans and a t-shirt are pretty standard, and won't take long to slip in and out of.
4) Minimal Makeup
This serves a couple purposes. First of all, minimal makeup means you won't have to constantly stop to touch up throughout the day. It also means that when you are trying on clothes, you don't get smears of makeup on anything, which other shoppers really appreciate.
5) Take Breaks
My final tip for you is to take breaks throughout the day. Yes, power shopping is great, but you need to stop, sit down, and listen to your body. If your feet are aching, your stomach is churning, and you're feeling light-headed, take the time to rest, eat, and recharge. Then return with a vengence!
Hope you enjoyed, tomorrow is going to be a haul of everything I got today, so stay tuned!
